Designer:
Max Sauze (born 1933) is a French-Algerian industrial designer and sculptor best known for his space-age and mid-century modern lighting fixtures made from bent, interwoven aluminum strips over steel wire frames. His cellular, geometric designs are frequently named after celestial bodies and constellations.
In 1968, he established his own company to produce sculptural aluminum designs, which gained international popularity through the 1960s and 1970s.His work reflects an art-craft movement focused on the multiplication of simple modular forms to mimic natural structures.
